April Baytan is a natural creative, business woman, and modern day free spirit who above all things enjoys building positive connections and relationships with amazing people. Initially a self-proclaimed workaholic, April has traded her fast-paced life for a slower one, choosing to live a life full of intention and consciousness. Living with intention spreads to all aspects of her life, including her spirituality, health, and work. Her approach towards floral and intentional wedding design pushes her client's unique perspective and personality to the forefront, deriving inspiration from their own personal life. She emphasizes on design that tells a story and consistently encourages clients to embrace themselves wholeheartedly and decide on design elements that truly resonate; no two weddings look the same.
April is charismatic, ambitious, loving, and unapologetically deep. Her background in makeup artistry, wedding coordination, and marketing experience, together with her personal enthusiasm for fashion, interior design, and the arts, all contribute to her modern aesthetic and longing to make everything around her beautiful. Her attention to exquisite detail and intuitive touch extends to everything she does.
ABOUT APRIL BAYTAN DESIGNS
A husband and wife team, April and Chris Baytan are the owners and partners of April Baytan Designs (ABD). What originally started off as April's personal creative business naturally became, like many things in their marriage, something they both would share and build together. April leads design and production and Chris leads majority of the businesses logistics and operations. As two individuals who met while working alongside each other in college and continued to work together throughout their professional lives, becoming business partners was a natural fit.
April and Chris have been together for over twelve years and married for over six. The both of them thoroughly enjoy getting to know other couples, many of which are clients that eventually become family and friends. As a partnership that values all the trials and delights of a beautiful relationship and healthy marriage, it is one of their greatest joys to be able to celebrate other couples alike. They believe in the concept of growing together (versus growing apart) and insist on treating their clients with transparency and respect. Their clients tend to be down to earth and stylish, with a natural gravitation towards ABD’s lush, romantic, and chic wedding style. April and Chris often find themselves referred to as "couple goals," and if asked would humbly admit that they themselves are their favorite couple. They genuinely care about their clients and always welcome them to the "married club" on their wedding day, hoping that through their example their clients feel encouraged to be their own favorite couple too.
Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area are the stomping grounds of April and Chris's many coffee house and foodie adventures. When not working and designing events or exploring more of the city through their beloved date nights, you can find them at home cooking up a meal together, lounging on the couch while listening to music, or watching a good movie with their morkie-poo, Boba. Other than married life and fulfilling their taste buds, Chris is a nurse that works nights and April enjoys exploring her spirituality and self-care through tarot, books, and writing. Other favorite past times together include traveling and exploring new places, indulging in new experiences, and most importantly connecting with each other and incredible people.
